Overview
The Problem
America's election infrastructure is fragmented, inconsistent, and increasingly distrusted. From state to satate, county to county, systems vary widely — in technology, procedures, and transparency. This patchwork has left vulnerabilities open to exploitation and undermined public confidence in the process. While some jurisdictions are well-protected, others struggle without clear standards or coordinated support.
Why ElectionRAMP Exists
ElectionRAMP was born from the realization that our elections deserve the same level of structured, risk-based protection applied to our most critical infrastructure. Drawing on decades of experience in cybersecurity, military communications, and election assurance, the creator of ElectionRAMP saw the need for a unified framework that doesn't just talk about problems — it offers implementable solutions.
The Origin Story
Developed by a U.S. Air Force veteran with over 30 years in IT and Cybersecurity, ElectionRAMP is informed by hands-on leadership in both military and civilian roles. After leading information assurance efforts across U.S. Air Force installations and later supporting government agencies and election commissions, the creator committed to applying this expertise to strengthen domestic election security. The result: a practical, scalable, and transparent framework designed to build trust — not bureaucracy.
What ElectionRAMP Is
ElectionRAMP offers a blend of common cybersecurity controls and new election-specific enhancements. Built on frameworks like NIST 800-53, it provides states and local jurisdictions with actionable tools to secure voting infrastructure, enhance transparency, and support vendor accountability. It is deliberately structured to allow flexible adoption — whether by federal incentive, state compact, or legislative reform — and is designed for practical use, not political theory.
Our Vision
We envision a future where election officials, voters, and lawmakers all operate from a place of shared trust and verified assurance. A future where transparency doesn't compromise security — it enhances it. And where states can maintain their autonomy while benefiting from national resilience. ElectionRAMP is how we get there — one practical step at a time.
